Surviving and Learning from Relational Mistakes
Ever wish you could take back something you said to a child, social worker or other service provider? It happens to us all. As we navigate through a complex and broken system we are bound to make a relational misstep. This training will focus on the importance of humility in relationships with the children that come into our homes and the service providers that also come along with them. Additionally, this training will review positive strength based communication that we can apply in all our relationships. The end goal of this training is to equip you to be effective in your communication in difficult situations.
Speaker: Daniel Carlisle
Daniel Carlisle has many years of experience working with traumatized children and their families in multiple roles at Family Care Network. These roles range from in home behavioral support to supervising an Intensive Services Foster Care program. Daniel has his Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from San Jose State University and an MA in Clinical Psychology from Chapman University, and is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Daniel’s experience and education has been truly enhanced from his role as a father of seven, five of his children through foster adopt. Daniel and his wife Tami strive to practice true religion as they love widows and orphans by sharing God’s grace as foster parents to a number of children who reunified with their parents.
